MATERIALS

Organic cotton:
An ecologically friendly product, it is grown without pesticides, insecticides, or chemical fertilizers. It does not pollute or deplete the soil, and it protects the health of farmers.

Dye:
The prints are made using the technique
manual "block printing" (printing using wooden stamps). The vast majority of dyes and materials are made from natural elements used throughout history. Sometimes, to obtain more intense colors, natural dyes are replaced by so-called azo-free dyes, i.e. without heavy metals. These dyes are
respectful of nature and your skin.

MANUFACTURING

Production:

Made in India in collaboration with the NGO Don Bosco, which not only produces the pieces, but also developed the brand's couture manufacturing center.

Dyeing and printing:

The Khatri Muslim community in Gujarat handles this part. They are a community of artists renowned in India for their complex printing techniques. An ajrack (fabric printed using the "block print" technique) requires between 14 and 16 stages of work; patience and attention to detail are essential for a radiant and recognizable result.

ETHICAL FASHION LABELS

THE CREATOR

Azaadi is a young French ethical and sustainable fashion brand that aims to share the beauty of Indian culture through its reimagined craftsmanship. It's a fusion of India and Europe: stylish garments with Western cuts in recycled sarees, as well as traditional plain and printed fabrics, dyed using natural methods.

Following a year of exchange in India, Lisa wanted to create the brand to economically and sustainably support small, isolated artisans in India and share her passion for this wonderful country.
